Limulus Limelight, a videopoem ode to Limulus Polyphemus, the American Horseshoe Crab, is based on a poem incorporating found poetry in news articles about the extraction of horseshoe crab blood for biomedical testing in developing vaccines for humans. They are threatened by this blood extraction, climate change effects and harvest for fertilizer. In the summer of 2021 a year after the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, I went to the ocean in search of witnessing my beloved horseshoe crabs spawning under the full moon. On the final day of my trip, I thought I would have to leave disappointed. But one pair called me to a hidden bay and showed themselves for a few minutes.
